Introduction to Digital Media

Students will be introduced to the tools of digital photography, video and basic sound recording, and the use of these tools to create a digital story. Digital storytelling is an emerging communication form that blends the ancient art of oral storytelling with a palette of technical tools. Students will get a hands-on opportunity to produce a short digital story while learning about traditional skills, including writing, interviewing, and storyboarding. Students will also gain an understanding of a variety of digital tools ranging from cameras and scanners through Adobe software for editing on their computers.
